#Octobathon: Oct 17-19th Wrap Up!

While I did not know about this event until the last day, Sunday 19th, I still kinda participated because I did the Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon. So I'll count Saturday.. I started off my weekend by reading Before I Break By Alec John Belle. This is a contemporary novel about a homophobic character named Cyril and how he unknowingly becomes friends with a gay male named Avery. Then it is all about how Cyril's life spirals out of control. I loved the plot, the characters, and the topics discussed. For a full length review, you can check out my blog post.

Number of Pages: 288, only story.

The next book I picked up was Coraline by Neil Gaiman, which is a horror-fantasy novel. This novel was about a young girl named Coraline who discovers a door to another home that resembles her own, but better. This includes parents called the other mother and the other father. She then has to fight for her life. I thought this book was great. It had a riveting plot that kept me entertained and I loved how brave Coraline was. My favorite quote was "'Because' she said, 'when you're scared but you still do it anyway, that's brave.'"

Lastly, I started but did not finish Stardust by Neil Gaiman. This book is a fantasy novel about about a young man named Tristran Thorn, who is on a quest to find a star to win the hand of  his love, Victoria Forester. On Saturday, I read up to page 20 then stopped. Then on Sunday I read up to page 143. So far I have enjoyed it a lot and I think it is way better than the movie, which is still good. My favorite character so far has been "the little hairy man". Yes, I know that is not a name but that is how the character is described because he does not give his name.

I had a crazy amount of fun and I cannot wait for Jenny's next read-a-thon! Shout out to her and her amazing work! You go, darling!

    Some fantastic books you've read - I would never normally have looked at Before I Break but i will certainly be on the look out for it after your rating and review. Biannual Bibliothon TBR!

DAY ONE! Reading Cram 2.0: Chills and Thrills Readathon! TBR Challenge!

Late Read-A-Thon TBRs! #ProjectTBR #TBRLove

Hi guys, girls, and everyone in between, I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. So it is kind of late to do a TBR for the TBR Love read-a-thon that runs from Valentine's day to the 20th and the Project TBR read-a-thon that runs from the 16th to the 22nd, but I'm going to do it anyway! So I am currently reading The Patmos Deception by Davis Bunn (...yes I know... I am still reading it) and Rising Tide: Dark Innocence by Claudette Melanson and Daniel Chon. If I finish these then I am going to move onto the Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima. Then if I finish that I am going to start Novelty by Shann Hurst. So yeah, that is what I am going to read for those read-a-thons and I am not doing any challenges for the Project TBR read-a-thon.
