Don't just fight the system…burn it.

Since discovering she is a shape-shifting, fire-breathing dragon on her sixteenth birthday (surprise!), Bryn McKenna’s world has been thrown into chaos. Being a “crossbreed”—part Red dragon and part Blue—means Bryn will never fit in. Not with dragon society. Not with the archaic and controlling Directorate. And definitely not when she has striped hair and a not-so-popular affection for rule-breaking…

But sneaking around with her secret boyfriend, Zavien, gets a whole lot harder when he’s betrothed to someone else. Someone who isn't a mixed breed and totally forbidden. And for an added complication, it turns out Bryn’s former archnemesis Jaxon Westgate isn’t quite the evil asshat she thought. Now she’s caught between her desire to fit in and a need to set things on fire. Literally.

Because if Bryn can’t adapt to the status quo…well, then maybe it’s time for her to change it.

Hi Readers! I was given the amazing opportunity to read a ARC of Bridges Burned by Chris
Cannon. Since this was the second book in the Going Down in Flames series, I purchased the first book to read as the plot sounded incredibly intriguing. I am so glad I did as the story was fast paced and a delight to read. I gave this a four out of five stars on Goodreads. It also left me wanting more, which made me extremely grateful for the ARC I received.

I immediately started the next book, Bridges Burned, which was awesome! I could not put this novel down. I gave this a five out of five stars. Once again, Chris Cannon's writing was a delight to read and fast paced. I love that about her writing and because of this I can not wait for more of her novels or other creative works. I also love her characters and I find my self loving to hate her protagonists like Directorate or Ferrin. I also really liked how she kept answering questions then creating more as you read. The one thing I was not a fan of was the CLIFFHANGER! I do not want to wait for the next book, but I will because I am currently in love with this series. :D In conclusion, I highly enjoyed both novels and I cannot wait for the third novel.

I would highly recommend that you buy this book if you have read Going Down in Flames. Or if you have not read Going Down in Flames you should buy that, then continue on to the sequel as they are really good.

Thanks for reading and I hope you guys are having a good reading month!

Night of All Evil by J.M. Shorney

My Rating: 3/5 stars Average Rating: 4/5 stars Format: ebook ISBN13: 9781310806902 I received a free copy in exchange for a honest review from AuthorAmp.com Night of All Evil was a good gothic horror novel about a witch named Freya that has a dark past that comes back to haunt her and her family. Freya was my favorite character and I really enjoyed reading from her point of view. The thing I liked about her was how she acted in the situations she is placed in. She also is just an interesting person that also happens to be a super powerful witch, which is pretty cool. In fact once I started this novel, I had a hard time putting it down. While I really enjoyed reading the story, the character development was just okay and it was kind of predictable. However, it was still a good read that grabbed my attention and kept me entertained.                                                                                                                 Thanks for reading!

#Octobathon: Oct 17-19th Wrap Up!

While I did not know about this event until the last day, Sunday 19th, I still kinda participated because I did the Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon. So I'll count Saturday.. I started off my weekend by reading Before I Break By Alec John Belle . This is a contemporary novel about a homophobic character named Cyril and how he unknowingly becomes friends with a gay male named Avery. Then it is all about how Cyril's life spirals out of control. I loved the plot, the characters, and the topics discussed. For a full length review, you can check out my blog post . Rating: 5/5 Stars Number of Pages: 288, only story. The next book I picked up was Coraline by Neil Gaiman, which is a horror-fantasy novel. This novel was about a young girl named Coraline who discovers a door to another home that resembles her own, but better. This includes parents called the other mother and the other father. She then has to fight for her life. I thought this book was great. It had a riveting p
